Exploring in Our Neighbourhood

KB enjoyed a lovely stroll in the sunshine yesterday to the Salem park.  Lovely is certainly an understatement.  The children were enthusiastic, engaged, and exploring!  The parents who accompanied us and myself and Miss Aitchison were frantically scribbling and snapping photos to capture the amazing conversations from the children.  They were particularly interested in the water and the bridge, the nature that they noticed on our walk, and the geese and ducks that we had the chance to observe.  Conversation was rich and as we reviewed some of our photos in the afternoon, it became even richer with more wonderings and ideas of what we would like to investigate next week when we go.  This group is consistently interested and engaged but I remarked to Miss Aitchison that being in nature and out in their community had made them come alive.  We delved into the documentation notes when we came back and looked for sparks of interest that stood out and are very keen to start planning activities attached to these interests.  The excitement and passion from the children was absolutely contagious!  Below are some pictures of our adventures and a couple of short videos at the river.
