I am constantly reminded in the kinder classroom to never underestimate a child and it's a lesson I love to be repeatedly taught! I've noticed in recent years that this capability in children is even greater when it comes to technology.
KB has been working on problem solving in math the last few days and we decided to try our hand at documenting our solutions through pictures and videos and reflecting as a group as we share our work. The engagement in the classroom when using the Ipads is clearly observable and the excitement that the students have as they see their work go up on the screen using the projector gives them agency over explaining their own work and also encourages them to do their best work to be shown to their peers.
This interest in communicating messages and exploring creativity through Ipads has been reoccuring over the past few weeks. Who knows! Perhaps we may see an inquiry based on these interests in future weeks.
